Publicity Seminar for Yoga in Marya
Hotel
Ankara, Turkey – 20.10.2007
Our center organizes seminars in
different places to publicize Yoga with its different aspects. This time our
seminar took place in the Marya Hotel. The purpose of the seminar which was
about “Relaxation” and “Concentration” was to give useful tips to the target
audience who work long hours a day and are not able to spare time for
themselves.
“To be relaxed and the ability
to concentrate on the task we are doing already exist in our nature. The
intensive business tempo leads to one’s alienation to himself. Due to this
alienation one can lose these inborn abilities and he may become more
stressful and tense. What is more, as his job turns out to be something
obligatory, he no longer takes pleasure in doing it.

However, when we focus our mind
on the task, we feel joy and hapiness. In other words where there is joy,
pleasure and hapiness there is concentration. When a person takes an interest
in something, concentration follows it. Concentration is the shadow of the
interest.” By making such explanations Ramaray Prabhu gave us the secret of
concentration. Without letting it remain as a theory he had the audience do
the practice of it.

In our three-hour seminar which
was composed of two parts, the tea break along with our food offers warmed
the atmosphere. Meanwhile, the students coming from our center were talking
with the participants about the benefits of yoga and answering some of their
questions.

After the seminar, some of the
participants were leaving their phone numbers and addresses in order to be
informed about the activities held by our center, some were filling in the
application forms to start the yoga courses and the others were directing
questions to our teacher Ramaray Prabhu individually.
Yoga is an unknown subject for majority,
a new field to be discovered. Ramaray Prabhu holding light to this area
organizing such gatherings, says: “Yoga is like an ocean. You can get
whatever you want from this field at physical, mental or psychological
level.” and he invites us to a mysterious voyage in this ocean.
