 Publicity Seminer for Yoga and
Meditation

INTES, (Turkish Constuction Industry Employers Union)
which receives support from Eurpean Union in the fields of education, started
a programme for the managers-to-be to develop themselves both personally and
vocationally. During the 3-hour workshop allocated for us, our teacher
Ramaray gave information about “What Yoga is,” “The Five Principles of Yoga,”
“Concentration and Meditation” and he finished his talk with a “Q and A”
session.
His deep knowledge on these subjects enabled him to
draw the attention of approximately 40 people onto the yoga subject easily.
Among the group there were a few people who were taking a nap, solving
puzzles and doing some drawings on their sheets. Even those “reluctant”
participants after hearing Ramaray’s explanation about the definition of
Yoga, that is to say; after hearing him saying “Yoga means to establish contact” “With
Whom?” “With God...” they paid all their attention to Ramaray’s talk. To
speak about God is enough to attract the attention of Turkish society. When the subject-matter is
God, people feel uneasy and this uneasiness springs from the transference of
misbeliefs to us.
 
But our teacher by enlightening people on these issues
managed to gain them a new insight.
For the participants, the word “yoga”, now, had a brand new meaning;
different from the ones in the dictionaries. By participating in some
activities, they saw that yoga was a life-style. During this 3 hour workshop,
a new seed was thrown into their minds. At least, they had gained some
knowledge and experience related to yoga. They had found a vehicle which
would take to both material and spiritual success, but the decision whether
to get into that vehicle or not would be taken only by them.
For our Leader Ramaray to publicize Yoga is not an
activity to help people only. It is a service for him, it is a loving service
which he does to please his Guru Srila Govinda Maharaj...
