Sri Vyasa Puja
Ankara, Turkey – 06.12.2006
Jaya Guru Maharaj, ki jaya!
Today is a holy day at Sri
Govinda Math. We come here together to
celebrate the birthday of Srila Guru Maharaj. This is a very special day...
Today is the day when our spiritual mester appeared to spread his grace and
show us the right way.
As
of early hours in the morning “Hare
Krishna” maha-mantra could be heard from every where in the center... and
with the accompany of this music the preparations for the Srila Gurudev’s
altar has started. Everyone is busy with doing something enthusiastically.
While some are arranging the lightings, the others are arranging flowers,
some are decorating the place in front of the altar with chocolates, cakes
and cookies. Everyone is doing their best to finish the preparation of the
altar as soon as possible.
With the details as always
Ramaray Prabhu is in charge. For his Guru Srila Govindha Maharaj everthing
has to be perfect. Having such feelings he is giving orders, even he is
participating in the preparation and decorating the ornaments. Everyone is as
busy as bee.... You can only see this on very special days. And today is one
of those unique days.
And the Altar is ready...
Everyone is individually showing their respect to Guru Govinda Maharaj and
offering the flowers in their hands onto his lotus feet. Following this, our
most precious gift which maintains our connection with Guru Maharaj –maha
mantra- is being sung. After the break which is given for the evening arati
we continue to sing the maha mantra.

In the proceeding hours the
birthday cake is brought in front of the altar to be offered to our
distinctive guest Gurudev. Our
thoughts which donot know the concept of distance are with Gurudev and with
our growing love for him in our hearts we wish all the best with our sincerety. ... Happy
Birthday Gurudev! Thanks you are here!

Such a beatiful day... Now it
is time to leave... Our friends are giving the bags of sweets and cakes which
have been offered to the lotus feet of Gurudev to the members. On the faces
of everyone there is a glittering smile... which reminds us of the
everlasting smile , the shining smile of Gurudev and his face.
Happy Birthday Gurudev!
Jaya Srila Gurudev ki jaya!
